Terms of Use

The short version: this is a private game among people who know each other, it is never played for money, and the commissioner runs it. The rest of this page spells that out.

What this is

The Teaser League is an invitation-only teaser-pick pilot for a private league of invited members who know their commissioner. It is not open to the public, and nobody signs up without an invitation. Standings, the points ledger and every chip and badge you see are for entertainment and bragging rights among the league — nothing here is a wager, a security, or anything with a cash value.

Points only, never money

No money ever changes hands in this game, in any direction. The one optional paid-adjacent feature — unlocking a locked entry before the deadline — costs points, set by the commissioner, never dollars. Points settle into a zero-sum weekly pot and split among that week’s winners; they cannot be bought, cashed out, or converted to anything of value. If a future version of this app ever asked for real money, it would need a different set of rules than these — that is not what this pilot is or does.

Picks, grading and the ledger

Lines lock, picks lock, games get graded, and weeks get settled largely by an automated pipeline; a commissioner can also act by hand (publishing a line, entering a score, overriding a grade) when the pipeline needs help. The points ledger is an append-only record kept for the integrity of the season — once a week settles, its entries stand as the record of what happened, corrected only by a further, audited entry, never erased.

The commissioner runs the league

Your league’s commissioner can deactivate a membership and adjust who holds the commissioner role. Deactivating a member stops their future participation from the next week whose lines have not yet locked — it does not erase their picks or ledger history, because that history has to stay complete for the season to make sense for everyone else still playing. Archiving a league itself is not a commissioner action — only the platform operator can do that, and it too is reversible and never deletes anything. If you disagree with a decision or something looks wrong, raise it with your commissioner first; if you cannot reach them or the issue is about the platform itself, write to [email protected].

Rules can change, with notice

A league’s scoring rules — juice, the teaser, how many picks an entry carries, the unlock fee — are versioned. A commissioner can change them, but only to take effect from a future week that has not opened yet, so a week already in progress is never changed underneath the people playing it. Members can see which rule version is in effect for any given week.

No warranty

This is a hobby project built and run by one person for a small private league, not a commercial product. It is provided as-is: we try hard to get lines, grading and settlement right, and we will fix mistakes we find, but we cannot promise the app will always be available, bug-free, or perfectly accurate, and we are not liable for anything that goes wrong with a points-only game played for fun. If a scoring or grading error is found, the commissioner can correct it — every correction is recorded, never silent.
