Frequently asked questions
Short answers about joining, playing a week and how the points work. For the full rules, see the rules page.
Joining
What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no entry fee, no dues and no payout. It is scored entirely in points, and the app has no way to take a payment — there is nowhere to enter a card, and no balance to withdraw.
Some leagues charge a small points fee to unlock an entry you already locked yourself. That is points, not money, and it goes into that week’s pot for the winners.
How do I join?
By invitation. A commissioner adds your email address or sends you an invitation link; opening that link and confirming your address is the whole process.
There is no public sign-up, so if you have not been invited yet, the person running the league is the one to ask.
Can I start my own league here?
Not from this page. Creating a league is limited to platform administrators and to existing commissioners, so there is no self-service button here to press.
If you want a league of your own, ask your commissioner or whoever runs the league you were invited to.
Do I need a password?
No. You enter your email address and a six-digit code arrives; that code signs you in. It works the same way every time, so there is nothing to remember and nothing to reset.
Is there an app to install?
No — it runs in the browser on any device, and it is built for a phone first. Add it to your home screen if you want it to feel like an app.
What if I join partway through the season?
You start in the first week you can still pick in, and weeks played before you joined do not count for or against you.
Your invitation says which week that is, and whether it is a practice week or a scored one.
Playing a week
Can I pick both teams in the same game?
Yes. It is called a Straddle, and each side takes one of your four slots.
Both sides still have to cover, so a Straddle only wins inside a band of final scores. Take a −7 favorite: both legs cover only if that team wins by 20 or fewer, ties, or loses by 6 or fewer — anything outside that and one side of your own pair beats the other.
Can I change a pick after I save it?
Yes, until that pick’s game kicks off or the Sunday 1:00 PM ET deadline arrives, whichever is first. You can save picks one at a time across the week and come back for the rest.
Once a game starts, that pick is final and keeps its slot.
What happens if I forget to pick?
Nothing breaks. At the Sunday 1:00 PM ET deadline every empty slot is filled for you, and you are graded on a full 4-pick entry like everyone else.
The rule is fixed and public: the biggest remaining favorite from a game that has not started, ties broken by the earlier kickoff and then alphabetically. Automatic picks are labelled, so you can always tell which ones you did not make.
Can other people see my picks?
Not before kickoff. Each pick becomes visible to the rest of the league when its own game starts, and every remaining pick becomes visible at the Sunday deadline.
Nobody can see what you saved, or that you locked your entry, before then.
Can I lock my picks early?
Yes, once all four slots are filled. It is optional, and it is a commitment device rather than an advantage — locking buys you nothing.
Unlocking again may cost points, depending on what your commissioner set; those points go into that week’s pot for the winners. Locking is also not an exemption from the deadline: an empty slot would still be filled automatically.
Scoring
What is a push, and why does it lose?
A push is a leg that lands exactly on its teased line — cover value of precisely zero. A push counts as a loss.
It is the stricter of the two common treatments, and it is applied the same way for everybody. Half-point lines cannot push at all.
What is the juice?
The juice is the number of points that moves between the two groups each week, and the commissioner sets it for their league.
Every loser pays it to every winner. With a juice of 10, fifteen winners and five losers, each loser is −150 and each winner is +50 — the week always balances to zero.
What if everybody wins, or everybody loses?
Nobody’s total moves. The juice only ever passes from one group to the other, so with no opposite group there is nothing to pay and nothing to collect, and the whole league scores zero for the week.
Why doesn’t the spread match my sportsbook?
The league captures one line per game on Wednesday at 7:00 AM ET, from DraftKings, and uses it for the rest of the week. Markets move after that; the league’s number does not.
That is deliberate: everybody in the league is graded against the same line, and every past week can be re-checked against the exact number it was settled with.
What happens if a game is postponed or cancelled?
If it is not final within its scoring week, that leg is voided and your entry is graded on the legs that remain.
If every leg in your entry voids, the week is no action for you and no points move.
What if a score is corrected after the week settles?
The affected picks are re-graded, reversing entries are written to the ledger, standings are recalculated, and the reason is recorded in the league’s audit log.
Weekly ledger entries are never edited in place, so the history of what happened stays readable.
Am I eliminated if I have a bad week?
No. There is no elimination and nothing to be knocked out of — it is a running points total across the whole season, and every week you can win points back.
These are the standard settings. A commissioner sets their own league’s juice, and a league’s real numbers are shown on its invitation and inside the app.
